Please come along and join us if your child needs warm water or a secure
environment to swim.
The cost will be £2.00 per child. The adult carer goes free.
Siblings are welcome, but in the event of there being too many people,
(Maximum 20 people) priority will be given to those with a therapeutic need.
Please contact Sally (01223 315024) for availability.
Hope to see you on Saturdays!
Parkside Pool
The City of Cambridge Swimming Club (CoCSC) at
Parkside pool now offers children/adults with disabilities an opportunity to
receive advanced swimming training within a club environment. Rebecca Gilbertson is currently
providing the swimming coaching at these sessions. The sessions are on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00 to 7.00pm. The lessons are suitable for
children/adults who can swim unaided and are keen to take their swimming a step
further - there is no age limit.
Details about location and disabled access for Parkside pool can be found
here
Chesterton Community College Pool
We have a session at Chesterton Community College
on Gilbert Road on Sundays between 4 and 5pm.. These sessions are aimed at more able
children (from 6 years upwards) with an objective of learning to
swim. A parent or sibling can go into the pool if
necessary. These are structured lessons for those
wanting to further develop their swimming skills in a deeper pool.
It is recognised that the Abbey and Windmill pools may be too shallow
for older, larger children, so the Chesterton pool is also aimed at
this group of children irrespective of their swimming ability.
However if the child is particularly immobile, they may find the
warmth of the Windmill Hydrotherapy pool more comfortable.
The Abbey Pool
These are held at the Abbey Pool from 4.30pm till 6.00pm on a
Saturday. These are generally more informal
sessions. This is a family swim session
All families are welcome and sessions are
run through the school holidays.
Price: £3.30 per adult (free for single adult accompanying
disabled child), £1.65 per child, and free for under 3's

Family Fun Session
Please
note a family fun session at Chesterton is where parents/carers will
need to accompany their child in the pool along with any
siblings/friends wishing to swim. This will be a good opportunity for
families with older children and siblings to have the whole pool for
play and fun, making use of the pool toys that Chesterton can
provide. Note that for family
fun sessions at Chesterton, the entry price for the session is a
little higher than for a normal session.

Disability
swimming sessions also run at City of Cambridge Swimming Club (COCSC)
at Parkside Pool on
Tuesday
19.00 - 20.00 and Sunday from 17.00 -18.15pm.
